During your stay at Tarata Eco Retreat, you can enjoy a locally made artisan sourdough loaf, crafted with care and perfect for relaxed mornings, unhurried afternoons, or evenings spent grazing by the fire.
Our sourdough is made using traditional methods and a long, slow fermentation process that brings depth of flavour and beautiful texture. Expect a crisp, golden crust with a soft, airy crumb inside, simple, nourishing, and deeply satisfying. It’s a small but special way to experience the craftsmanship of local baking while you unplug and unwind.
We also have a wood-fired pizza oven on site (the one pictured), tucked gently into the landscape and made for slow, relaxed evenings as the sun dips behind the hills.
Our ready-to-bake sourdough pizza dough is perfect for creating your own rustic pizzas by firelight.
Each $7 dough portion makes two small pizzas. You can either:
Combine the dough to create one generous, dinner-plate-sized pizza, or
Make two smaller individual pizzas, ideal for sharing with a glass of wine while the fire crackles nearby.
